Fly by Light, an Eastern community partner, focused their November social-emotional lesson on gratitude. Mason jars were placed in class rooms, to be filled with gratitude statements, affirmations, lyrics and quotes.

A newly branded room at Eastern, the Intention Room, will allow students to pause and re-center and it was recently revamped by Fly by Light and the Art Club. According to art teacher Jenna Lee, students “Taibria Turner and Nathan Robinson took full ownership and leadership, worked tirelessly for weeks painting walls and trim, teaching others best practices for painting walls (when they were new to it themselves) and always made sure to clean up at the end of each day. They are principled, knowledgeable, trustworthy and dependable.”
