Something of a renaissance has been quietly going on in the glass art scene for the past several decades, and you can check it out right now on H Street NE. Glass Stache DC (1111 H St. NE) is ready to share this artistic innovation with the District.

Pipes made from borosilicate glass have become a new medium of expression both for the artists creating them as well as the collectors who appreciate their creations.  Pipe art has driven an explosion in color varieties available in borosilicate glass to previously unknown realms.

There are now colors in glass that change drastically from yellows to pinks and from greens to purples in different lighting, colors that when layered look like a summer sunset fading from oranges to pinks and purples, and even colors that light up under a UV light.

Glass Stache DC is not your average head shop, it may even be more appropriate to refer to it as a gallery space with retail tendencies.

The venue is a welcome new addition to the H St Corridor.  The team behind this store has been providing the community with their wares since 2010 through The Glass Stache in Old Town Alexandria.  Their focus is on quality products at a fair price.  You will find CBD (sourced from both large known brands and smaller local ones, all with proper testing), vaporizers, smoking accessories, and of course glass.

Their glass comes in large part from small artisans both local and across the United States and is not limited to just pipes!  Prices cover a wide range from both affordable everyday items to wildly artistic, one-of-a-kind works with a price tag to match.

Incredible glass jewelry, drinkware, and collectible borosilicate marbles in addition to quality smoking apparatuses decorate their shelves.  Hard to find pipe brands such as Mobius, Toro, and Sovereignty line the cases.  Even their more common glass items are standouts among stores that all seem to carry the same thing.

With plans to host glass art events starting in 2020 featuring big names in the glass industry as well as up and coming artists this store is a breath of fresh air in a city where head shops have become routine and stale.
