Carjacking in Northeast Sunday

A man was carjacked by three youth late in the evening of Sunday, Dec. 8. The man was at 14th and A Streets SE when the three, who were all armed, took his 2004 Honda Accord and his cell phone. The car is black and has temporary Maryland tags.

The suspects were all described as a black males. The first has a dark complexion, 20-21 years old and is 5’6” tall and about 170 lbs, and was wearing all black clothing with a hood. The second is around 17 or 18 years old with a light complexion, weighing about 160 lbs, and was wearing all black clothing; and the third stood about 5’8”-5’9”, weighing about 170-180 lbs and was wearing all black clothing.

Gun Recovery on 11th Street

On Sunday evening at approximately 6:15 PM, officers assigned to the First District Robbery Suppression Team recovered a gun during a traffic stop near 11th St NE and I St NE.

During the stop, they discovered that an occupant was carrying an illegal firearm and drugs. That subject was arrested for firearms and drug-related charges and another occupant was arrested for several outstanding warrants.

At 2:25 a.m. Saturday, a car was stolen on the 200 block of M Street SW.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, a woman was arrested on the 1300 block of K Street NW on charges of Simple Assault.

At 10:02 a.m. Saturday, there was a burglary at a home on the 1300 block of F Street NE.

 

At 2:57 a.m. Sunday, a woman was arrested on the 100 block of Independence Avenue SE on charges of Driving Under the Influence.

At 3:20 p.m. Sunday, a woman was arrested at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Eighth Street SE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 900 block of H Street NE on charges of Carrying a Pistol Without a License.

At 7:35 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 700 block of 13th Street SE on charges of Unlawful Possession of Liquid PCP.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
