The 7th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at St Mark’s Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill (301 A St. SE).
On December 14, 2012, twenty-seven people died in a mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Later that month, the National Cathedral hosted a vigil in honor of the victims. Since 2013, the vigil has been held at St. Mark’s to enable family and friends of victims, who travel from all over the country, to lobby Congress on Capitol Hill for common sense gun violence prevention.
From December 4 to 5 St. Mark’s will again host the Newtown Foundation (the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance) and numerous partners who travel to Washington for the vigil and lobby days.
St. Mark’s parishioners and community members provide hospitality for our guests and take part in planning the vigil service. Ready to help again this year? Use the links below to volunteer your time to help or to volunteer to bring food or beverages.
