Police Investigate Saturday Southwest Shooting

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 9, on the 200 block of L Street SW.

At approximately 12:37 a.m., members of the First District were in the area of Delaware and L Streets SW when they heard the sound of gunshots. Officers canvassed the area and located an adult male on L Street SW. He was unconscious, not breathing and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.  

The decedent has been identified as 31 year-old Robert Hobson, of Suitland, Maryland.

The Metropolitan Police Department  currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
