The Capitol Hill Restoration Society will hold it’s free 2019 House Expo on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eastern Market’s North Hall.
Capitol Hill features historic houses from 19th century frame and brick houses to 20th century Craftsman-inspired porch-front houses. Everyone wants to properly maintain their homes and many of us are planning home enhancement projects. Finding qualified experts to do this work can present a challenge.
Often the best contractor is a local contractor, and you can meet them at House Expo!
You will also find experts in related fields, including real estate, finance, insurance, property management, and representatives of city agencies who can provide guidance on your upcoming project.
The expo will feature more than 30 local home service exhibitors, plus presentations on window restoration, masonry and chimney repair and insulation installation. There will be experts in real estate, finance, insurance, property management as well as representatives of city agencies.
There will be three presentations:
- Noon: Home Energy Performance 101 – Save Money and Be Comfortable by Max Insulation
- 1 p.m.: Historic Masonry and Chimney Repair by Gary Barnhart
- 2 p.m.: Window Restoration by Neil Mozer
Plus, the Eastern Market Community Advisory Committee (EMCAC) will have docents available to lead tours of the historic Eastern Market building. No appointment is needed.
The event is co-sponsored by Coldwell Banker real estate agents Chuck Burger and Steve Hagedorn as well as the Hill Rag.
