Four Arrested on Drug Charges Monday in Northeast

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced that they had made several arrests as a result of operations conducted by the Narcotic Enforcement Unit in Northeast.

Two people were arrested Monday, Sept 2 on charges of Distributing Crack Cocaine. A 52-year-old Northeast man was arrested on the 1600 block of Holbrook Street NE, and a 69-year-old man was arrested on the 1000 block of 16th Street NE.

Two men were also arrested in other operations.  A 54-year-old man was arrested on the 1600 block of Benning Road NE on charges of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute. A 37-year-old man was arrested on the 800 block of Bladensburg Road NE on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.

In Other News

At 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, there was a robbery on the 1500 block of Benning Road NE.

At 8:10 p.m., a man was arrested on the 900 block of 17th Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
