Police Investigate A Street Shooting Wednesday

Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28th

On the 1400 block of A Street SE. Called to the area to investigate reports of gunshots, police entered a residence on the block, where they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were conscious and breathing and transported to area hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for any information as they investigate this case. At 10:38 a.m. Wednesday, a woman was arrested on the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE on charges of Threatening to do Bodily Harm.

At 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, a man was arrested on the 2000 block of M Street NE on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute (Drugs).

At 10:44 a.m. Wednesday, a man was arrested on the 1600 block of Benning Road NE on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute (Drugs).

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.

“As we continue to work with our community in the prevention of crime, we ask that if you see something suspicious you contact us immediately,” says First District Commander Morgan C. Kane, MPA.
