Drive-by Shooting in Northeast Tuesday Morning

At around 6:14 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 two men were shot while standing in front of 1657 11th Place NE. One man was shot once in the leg, while the other was shot twice.

Both men were alert and were transported to local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

A lookout was issued for two black males driving a grey 4-door vehicle. They were last seen driving south on West Virginia Avenue NE.

At 4:45 p.m. Monday, a man was arrested on the 1700 block of Benning Road NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 9 p.m. Monday, a man was arrested at the DC Central Detention Facility on charges of Illegal Dumping.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
