Police Investigate Sunday K Street Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday, July 14th on the 1100 block of K St SE. Officers went to the scene around 8 p.m. after getting reports of the sounds of gunshots.

Once they got there, they discovered several shell casings. Officers were advised that a male gunshot victim went to a local hospital for treatment.

The man told officers that he was in the 1100 block of K Street SE when an unknown male wearing all black approached him, produced a handgun and began firing at him.  The unknown male then fled the scene.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as the result of being shot and was treated at hospital.

Police Investigate C Street Robbery

A man was beaten and robbed Saturday night on C Street SE, First District Officers said Sunday morning.
The man said he was walking on the 1800 block of C Street SE around 11:45 p.m. when he was approached by 3 or 4 black males that demanded his stuff. The suspects began to assault him before taking his cell phone and bag.

The victim was eventually transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

At 12:50 a.m. Saturday, a man was arrested on the 500 block of 11th Street SE on charges of Driving Under the Influence.

At 5:03 a.m. Saturday, there was a robbery on the 1200 block of North Carolina Avenue NE.

At 5:24 a.m. Sunday, a woman was arrested on the 800 block of G street SE on charges of Threatening to Do Bodily Harm.

At 9:23 a.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 1500 block of H Street NW on charges of Threatening to Kidnap or Injure a Person.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 1000 block of H Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 4:03 p.m. Sunday, a car was stolen from a parking lot on the 100 block of H Street SE.

At 6:15 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 1400 block of First Street SW on charges of Simple Assault.

At 8:16 p.m. Sunday, there was an assault with a dangerous weapon on the 1100 block of K Street SE.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
