Shortly after noon on Tuesday, July 9th a gun was fired on the 1500 block of First Street SW. The gunshots damaged a car and two air conditions. Police were unable to located any victims.
Later the same day at around 11:40 p.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of K Street SE for reports of gunshots. There they found several vehicles with gunshot damage. No victims were located at the scene.
A dark-colored Toyota Camry was seen leaving the area of the southeast and is sought a vehicle of interest.

At 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, a man was arrested on the 600 block of Maryland Avenue SW on charges of Panhandling.
At 12 p.m. Tuesday, a man was arrested on the 700 block of 19th Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.
Reporting Illegal Activity
Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:
- Brief description of the activity;
- Date, time and location of the activity;
- Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
- Descriptions of vehicles;
- Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
- Your name and contact information.
