Union Kitchen Grocery Robbed Thursday

The Union Kitchen Grocery (538 Third St. NE) was the victim of an armed robbery Thursday afternoon.

The entire robbery was captured on video, as a suspect walked into the grocer and lunch counter at 2:58 p.m. and placed a bag of snacks on the counter, apparently for purchase. It is then that he video shows him reaching into his bag to pull out a handgun, pointing it at the clerk and demanding cash. The suspect took the money and fled the scene at a walking pace.

The suspect can be seen in the surveillance video above.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
