The 11th Street Bridge Park Project is organizing a Hopkins Garden Refresh on Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers will add soil amendment to the plots as well as hay for moisture retention and do a little weeding.
The plots are shared, and the gardeners make the decision about how to use the harvest communally.
The urban gardens were created last year in partnership between the 11th Street Bridge Park, the DC Housing Authority and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
