The monthly Capitol Hill Cleanup announced the addition of a new location last month. Lincoln Park cafe and market Wine and Butter (1023 E. Capitol St.) joins the efforts with the Saturday, June 1 Capitol Hill Litter Clean Up.
Grassroots community group Clean Capitol Hill organizes Hill East litter patrols on the first Saturday morning of every single month.
Please join the hour-long litter battle at one of five regular Hill East locations, with your choice of start times at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.:
8 a.m.
- Wine and Butter (1023 E. Capitol St.)
9 a.m.
- Fulcrum Properties Group (1328 G St. SE)
- Founding sponsor, 7-Eleven (1501 Independence Ave SE)
- Chick-Fil-A (1401 Maryland Ave. NE)
10 a.m.
- Atlas Vet (1326 H St. NE)
- Trusty’s Full-Serve Restaurant and Bar (1420 Pennsylvania Ave SE)
As always, trash bags, sanitary gloves, and street litter are provided. There also will be an after cleanup donut party at Fulcrum Property Group (1328 G St. SE) from 10 a.m. to noon.
For planning purposes, it’s helpful to RSVP in advance to CleanCapHill@gmail.com, but that is not required. Last-minute-surprise walk-ups are very welcome.
If you’d like to become a volunteer, a sponsor, or to start a cleanup in your neighborhood, email cleancaphill@gmail.com.
