The Capitol Hill Classic, the largest and oldest 10K in the District, will celebrate their 40th annual anniversary on Sunday May 19th, 2019 with the 10K, 3K and Fun Runs.
This year 4,500 people will get their adrenaline pumping as they race past the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, through Lincoln Park and around the new sports fields at RFK Stadium Campus.
Packet pickup takes place Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pacers Navy Yard (300 Tingey St. SE) and Peabody Elementary School (425 C St NE). Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 p.m. to 2 p.m. Still not registered? You can do it on site on the morning of the race at Peabody.
This year spectators can get in on the fun. Join PepsiCo Recycling in working to keep the historical city beautiful and clean. Bring recyclables to the official PepsiCo Roadster van to swap out recyclables for a chance to win cool prizes like t-shirts, drink koozies, bandannas, and other great giveaways!
Compete with friends to test your recycling skills, and take pics in the GIF booth. Level-up by collecting stray trash by dropping it off in designated bins. Training for a 10K might be a challenge, but adopting simple recycling and trash disposal habits is something everyone can try today!
Don’t forget the no-parking restrictions along the race routes, including streets around the Library of Congress, both sides of Stanton Park, and along East Capitol Street NE between Third Street NE and RFK Stadium Campus.
