Detectives from Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) First District announced an arrest has been made in a stabbing that happened on the Unit block of L Street NW on Sunday, May 12.
At around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, a suspect approached two victims. He took out a knife and stabbed both victims, then fled the scene.
Both victims were treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Sunday, May 12, a 40-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).

At 12 a.m. Monday, a car was stolen on the 700 block of Third Street NE.
At 12 a.m. Monday, two men were arrested on the 1200 block of E Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.
At 7 a.m. Monday, a woman was arrested on the 1500 block of F Street NE on charges of Arson.
At 10:34 p.m. Monday, a woman was arrested on the 2000 block of Benning Road NE on charges of Destruction of Public Property.

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:
- Brief description of the activity;
- Date, time and location of the activity;
- Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
- Descriptions of vehicles;
- Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
- Your name and contact information.
