Saturday is Last Day for Dawn Price Baby

Everything for Sale as Iconic Baby Retailer Closes

After 15 years, Dawn Price announced that the Dawn Price Baby stores would be closing. The first, the Reston location, closed Dec. 26, 2018. The Eastern Market location served customers into 2019.

The first Dawn Price Baby is also the last. Dawn Price Capitol Hill (325 Seventh St. SE) will close at the end of business Saturday, May 11. All remaining store inventory has been discounted by 75%. Furniture and fixtures are also on sale.

Owner Dawn Price announced the closure of the store in an email sent to regular customers in December of last year, citing the renewal of store leases as the impetus for the decision.

There were four Dawn Price Baby stores in the DC Metro Area. The Capitol Hill location is the last remaining. Reston Town Center (11985 Market St. Reston, VA) closed in December, 2018 and the locations in Mosaic (2905 District Ave., Fairfax, VA) and Georgetown (31112 M St. NW) were both closed by Jan. 31, 2019.

The baby blue Dawn Price shopping bags are a well-known pedestrian and stroller decoration throughout the Hill. The store carries a selection of baby and toddler clothing, gear, toys, books and gifts.

Dawn Price Baby’s listed Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
