Clean Capitol Hill Fights Litter Every Month

Two girls pose with the litter they have removed from their neighborhood streets during the April, 2018 Capitol Hill Clean Up.

It’s time to take to the streets for another monthly Capitol Hill Cleanup. The April 6, 2019 edition happens to take place the same day as Mayor Bowser’s Spring Clean-Up, but grassroots community group Clean Capitol Hill organizes Hill East litter patrols on the first Saturday morning of every single month.

Please join the hour-long litter battle at one of five regular Hill East locations:

In honor of Earth Month the crew is adding a special cleanup at the RFK Stadium/Armory Metro Entrance (192 19th Street SE), with a meeting time of 9 a.m.

As always, trash bags, sanitary gloves, and street litter are provided. There also will be an after cleanup donut party at Fulcrum Property Group (1328 G St. SE). RSVP on the Eventbrite page! It’s your chance to socialize with Hill Easters and do some trash-talking!

For planning purposes, it’s helpful to RSVP in advance to [email protected], but that is not required. Last-minute-surprise walk-ups are very welcome.

If you’d like to become a volunteer, a sponsor, or to start a cleanup in your neighborhood, email [email protected].
