Prince George County Pursuit Ends on Hill

On Sunday, March 31, at around 3:00 p.m., officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department pursued a vehicle into the District of Columbia, into the Capitol Hill Neighborhood.  The pursuit of a gray Honda Civic ended in the First District on the 1200 block of East Capitol Street NE, where the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The driver of the vehicle was caught on the 100 block of Tennessee Avenue NE.  The driver was charged with a list of traffic and drug offenses in the District. Prince George’s County Police will continue their investigation regarding the vehicle and its involvement in an underlying case in their jurisdiction.

At 7:55 a.m. Monday, a man was arrested on the 1100 block of Fourth Street SW on charges of Simple Assault.

At 11:40 a.m. Monday, a woman was arrested on the 1500 block of Massachusetts Avenue SE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 9:56 a.m. Monday, a man was arrested at the Central Detention Facility on charges of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

At 11:33 p.m., a car was stolen on the 600 block of E Street SE.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
