Attend Eastern Market Advisory Committee Meeting Wednesday

Meeting to Discuss SE Library, 300 block Seventh Street

The next meeting of the Eastern Market Community Advisory Committee (EMCAC) takes place 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the North Hall of Eastern Market (corner of Seventh Street and North Carolina Ave SE).

According to the draft agenda, the meeting will hear a presentation on Historic Designation for the Southeast Library from the Capitol Hill Restoration Society, and an update on the Eastern Market Metro Plaza (EMMP) Park Project.

A discussion about the 300 block of Seventh Street SE, where the Department of General Services (DGS) recently undertook management of the outdoor market, is also on the agenda. The committee will also hear an update regarding the Eastern Market leases, parking as well as the Market Manager’s Report and the Capital Improvements Report.

EMCAC is the District’s legislatively established body entrusted with advisory and oversight responsibilities for the operations, management and renovation of Eastern Market. The community is invited to all EMCAC meetings. They are generally held on the last Wednesday of each month in the North Hall at Eastern Market at 7th SE & North Carolina SE.
