On Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at around 5:30 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) First District patrol units responded to a 911 call reporting the sound of gunshots on the 1200 Block Linden Place NE, the block behind the Auto Zone parts store on H Street NE.
When they arrived on the scene, police discovered an adult female with a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim was evaluated before being transported by DCFEMS ambulance to an area hospital where she was admitted in stable condition.
Subsequent investigation by First District Detectives and patrol units resulted in the arrest of a male subject for ADW Gun. The subject was arrested without incident on the same day as the shooting.
The street was subject to closure and direction from officers in marked patrol units as final crime scene processing was completed Sunday.
