In an email sent to regular customers on Wednesday afternoon, Owner Dawn Price announced that after 15 years in the baby business, the Dawn Price Baby stores are closed or slated to be closed.
There are four Dawn Price Baby stores in the DC Metro Area. As of December 26, 2018, the Reston Town Center (11985 Market St. Reston, VA) was closed. The locations in Mosaic (2905 District Ave., Fairfax, VA) and Georgetown (31112 M St. NW) will close at the latest by Jan. 31, 2019, she wrote.
The first Dawn Price Baby store will also be the last. The Capitol Hill location (325 Seventh St. SE) will remain open into 2019. “Capitol Hill will close sometime in the months following the beginning of the year,” Price wrote.
The baby blue Dawn Price shopping bags are a well-known pedestrian and stroller decoration throughout the Hill. The store carries a selection of baby and toddler clothing, gear, toys, books and gifts.
In the email, Price said that the store leases have come up for renewal, providing the opportunity for a new beginning.
“Dawn Price has been one of the most rewarding, challenging and exciting times of my life,” she wrote in the farewell email, which thanked customers and staff.
Price said that the company is working to bring additional baby resources to customers, promising to share news with the customer base.
Customers are encouraged to check the website for updates and store closing information, as stores may close before Jan. 31. Questions and comments may be sent directly to infor@dawnpricebaby.com. “I will do my best to address them all in a timely manner,” Price wrote.
