
On Sunday night, police announced they had made an arrest in the shooting that took place inside an H Street Whole Foods Market earlier that day.
At 10:50 a.m., a man entered the store at 600 H St. NE, which was full of Sunday morning shoppers and families eating at the market’s cafe. He went to a cashier and demanded money, and a struggle took place. During the struggle, the cashier was shot. The suspect subsequently fled in a red Honda Civic Zip Car.
A 28-year-old Southeast man has been arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Rob while Armed.
