Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch announced Thursday that an arrest has been made regarding in homicide that occurred on Saturday, Oct. 20, on the 900 block of Fifth Street SE near the Arthur Capper Senior Complex.
At approximately 3:53 p.m. that day, officers went to Fifth Street after receiving reports on the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The victim had been shot inside a building on the 900 block of Fifth Street, but fled the location, running around the corner and collapsing on the 400 block of I Street SE.
The decedent was identified as 19-year-old Antonio Dixon, of Southeast, DC.
On Thursday, November 29, a 20-year-old Northwest man was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
