Join the Capitol BID and Councilmembers Charles Allen (Ward 6-D) and Elissa Silverman (At Large-I) together with members of the Hill Havurah congregation at 5:30 p.m. next Sunday, Dec. 2 for the 5th Annual Capitol Hill Menorah Lighting.
The event will take place on the NE quadrant of Eastern Metro Plaza, near to the George Didden Capitol Hill Tree. Hot chocolate, coffee, potato latkes and jelly donuts prepared by Ted’s Bulletin will be served by the BID Men in Blue. Musicians will perform traditional Hanukkah songs throughout the program.
The menorah lighting event has become a Hanukkah tradition on the Hill. The 9-foot public space menorah was purchased in 2013 and is dedicated to BID Past Board Chairman Paul Pascal for his many years of service to the Capitol Hill community. Mr. Pascal passed away in April 2018, and his wife, Brenda Pascal, will carry on his legacy by lighting the menorah.
