Join Rural Dog Rescue for their annual holiday fundraiser and get in the spirit of the holiday season twice over. This year the non-profit will host two events on the same day, the Reindeer Run and Photos with Santa.
Start the morning of Sunday, Dec. 2 off with the 5K Reindeer Run or 1 Mile Reindeer Walk. Both are fun runs and not timed. Registration for the run starts at 9 a.m. and the run begins at 10 a.m. at Howl to the Chief (733 Eighth St SE). Race fees are $10, payable online.
Afterward, stick around for Photos with Santa and drink specials at The Brig (1007 Eighth St. SE)! The Brig is dog and kid friendly, and will be offering drink specials as well. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. bring your pets and family, wear your ugliest Christmas sweaters, dress your pup up and just get festive. No registration for photos is necessary, just a $10 donation.
Rural Dog Rescue works with high-kill shelters in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina, focusing on rescuing the ‘Underdogs’ –dogs frequently overlooked in shelters because they are dark-colored, elderly, sick or injured.
The event is sponsored by Howl to The Chief, Summit to Soul, Dogma Daycare and The Brig. 100% of the proceeds from both events go to help Rural Dog Rescue save lives of The Underdogs.
