The 2018 Brickie Awards are just around the corner! Each year, the Brickies brings Ward 6 together to talk, laugh, and celebrate some of our neighbors over food and drink.

The Brickie Awards are Ward 6’s annual party. Carrying on the tradition of former Councilmember Tommy Wells’ Livable Walkable Awards, the Brickies honor local people and organizations whose leadership, commitment, and vision make Ward 6 a great place to live and work.

Until November 16, you can nominate a neighbor, a local business, or a local organization for one of five categories:

  • Neighbor Award
  • Community Organization Award
  • Business Award

  • Civic Pride Award

Last year, the Local Business Award winner was East City Books, and the Greater DC Diaper Bank took home the Community Organization Award.

The Brickies award ceremony will take place at (5th and K St., NW) in Mt. Vernon Triangle on Wednesday, December 5 from 6-8 p.m. The event is free and open to all Ward 6 residents, just RSVP here.
