Police Seek Suspects in Northeast Construction Robbery

On Saturday afternoon at about 2:45 p.m. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers investigated reports of an armed robbery on the 1300 block of G Street NE. Several construction workers were inside the townhouse, which is under renovation, when two suspects entered and demanded their property. One of the suspects pointed a handgun and the victims turned over some items of property. The suspects then fled the location. They were last seen running south on 14th Street NE.

The lookout is for two suspects described as black males in their twenties. The first is described as 6’0”-3” tall, thin, with a light complexion, very long light brown dreadlocks, wearing an army-green zip-up jacket and dark jeans. The second is about 5’3”-7” in height, with a dark complexion, wearing all-black clothing and a ski mask.

At 12 a.m. Sunday, a person was arrested on the 600 block of Sixth Place SW on charges of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 800 block of 21st Street NE on charges of Threatening to Do Bodily Harm.

At 8:10 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 700 block of 17th Street NE on charges of Threatening to Kidnap or Injure a Person.

At 8:24 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 300 block of G Street SW on charges of Simple Assault.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
