Police Seek Suspect in September Benning Rd. Murder

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch seek public assistance identifying and finding a suspect after a homicide that occurred on Monday, September 24, on the 1800 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

At approximately 7:33 pm.., officers responded to reports of a shooting at that address. There they found a man who had been shot multiple times.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) brought the victim to an area hospital, but after all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Marquiawn Williams of Northeast.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Rickie Alphonso Collier.  He is described as a black male, medium complexion, 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds.

Collier is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder while Armed.  He can be seen in the photos and in the video above.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Rickie Collier, or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at 202-727-9099.

MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
