There are still spots open in the Serve Your City (SYC) fall yoga session. This class for kids aged 11 to 17 takes place Friday afternoons at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (545 Seventh St. SE). The session runs October 12 to November 16.

Instructor, writer, artist and DCPS graduate Sia Tiambi (E-RYT 500, YACEP) will be the instructor for the fall session. She is a native Washingtonian who teaches yoga with energetic encouragement, developing a curriculum for ‘omies’ to share in the friendship and healing vibes of a woke flow. She has taught all levels of yoga in spaces such as schools, gyms and federal government classrooms.

SYC yoga is designed to help kids of all income levels de-stress and feel good in their bodies. The program is income-sensitive, so that a lack of cash flow won’t interrupt vinyasa flow. If you are a teacher, work with youth, or know someone who might benefit from yoga, please spread the word.

Classes run from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday except the first and last (Oct. 12 and Nov. 16), when classes start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.
