On Tuesday, owner Toni Woods announced that she has sold her pet-walking service. Effective September 1, Anytime K9 will be under new ownership.
The owner of local pet-walking company Metro Mutts Pet Services Darnita Brown has purchased Anytime K9 from its founder. With this acquisition, Metro Mutts will now be able to expand its service area throughout the District of Columbia.
Woods launched Anytime K9 in December 2006. With a staff of 1 and more than 200 clients, it now is one of the premier pet-walking businesses in the city. Woods said she sold the company to focus her full attention on her other local company, Spot On Dog Training.
Spot On Dog Training offers group classes, private lessons and behavioral consultations as well as a boarding school.
“Anytime K9 has been my passion project, and all our clients and their dogs mean the world to me,” Woods explains. “I am confident Darnita holds the same commitment to professionalism that I do, and the best part is that I’m not going anywhere! I look forward to continuing to help our residents and their dogs through Spot On Dog Training.”
Darnita Brown is a native Washingtonian who has nearly 20 years’ experience working with animals and more than 15 years of experience in managing operations. She will continue to run Metro Mutts as she expands her service area with Anytime K9.
“I’m very excited to be expanding our service area with Anytime K9,” Brown said. “I’ve known Toni for some time and this was just a natural progression for both of us. I am really looking forward to getting to know the clients and their wonderful dogs!”
