Suspect Arrested in Northeast Stabbing

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MMPD) First District announced Friday that an arrest was made in an H Street stabbing that took place Wednesday, July 25.

At around 12:05 a.m., the victim got in an argument with the suspect on the 100 block of H Street NE. In the course of the argument, the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim.

The suspect was placed under arrest by responding officers. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

 On Wednesday, July 25, a 60-year-old Northeast man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).

 

In Other News

At 5:10 p.m. Thursday, a man was arrested on the 1300 block of Canal Street SW on charges of Possession of a Bb Gun.

At 4:15 p.m., there was a theft at a specialty store on the 600 block of H Street NE.

At 4:55 a.m., there was an attempt to commit robbery in a parking lot on the 300 block of G Street SE.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
