Capitol Hill-based non-profit Serve Your City (SYC) works to provide underserved youth with equal opportunity through education and athletic programs. You can support this hard-working organization and its important work throughout April by dining locally!
The organization is the “Charity of the Month” this April at Lavagna, a local, farm to table Italian Restaurant located on Barracks Row in the heart of Capitol Hill.
Every Wednesday in April when you join Lavagna (539 Eighth St. SE) for delicious, locally-sourced food and dazzling cocktails, Lavagna will donate 10% of the Wednesday night proceeds to the nonprofit youth organization.
Your generous donations help Serve Your City continue the amazing programs that provide underserved youth the access to activities they would be unable to afford without your support.
Some of the SYC programs include:
- Financial Literacy with the International Monetary Fund
- Aquatics-swim, snorkel, scuba instruction
- Yoga
- Rowing Crew with DC Strokes Youth
Students eagerly check out books delivered to classrooms after a 2017 SYC book drive.
If you can’t make it to Lavagna, please consider becoming a SYC Recurring Donor by pledging $20, $25, $50 per/month and make a difference by helping to expand SYC youth programs.
