Police are investigating a report of a violent sexual assault that took place early Sunday morning.

At around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, a woman got into what she believed to be her for-hire car. The driver pulled over and parked on the 400 block of East Capitol Street SE. Once inside, the driver touched her breast and legs.

The suspect also tried to unbuckle and reach down the woman’s pants. When she began to yell, the driver strangled her and punched her multiple times.

The victim managed to escape the vehicle, but the suspect drove away in a four-door dark-colored sedan. She was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 32-36 years old. He is about 5′ 8″ tall, with a medium build, slicked-back eyebrows and either moles or freckles on his face.

Police have not named the for-hire company implicated as they are still working to identify the suspect.
