Together, the assembled will send a clear message to President Trump and Congress: Hands Off Our Health Care.

The Council is set to hold a first vote later tomorrow morning on the Defending Access to Women’s Health Care Services Amendment Act of 2017, which was introduced by Councilmember Allen and ensures DC women won’t lose the many health services provided under the Affordable Care Act.

The bill requires insurers to cover certain health care services at no extra cost. These services include breast cancer screening and counseling, screening for HIV and counseling for sexually transmitted infections. It also requires insurers to provide information regarding coverage to enrollees and potential enrollees.
