Boys and Girls Club Proposals Have Second ANC Hearing

The Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Committee for Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 6B will meet tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Coletta’s School (1901 Independence Ave SE).

The agenda includes two historic preservation cases and a review of the two proposals for the Boys & Girls Club building.

The proposals for the Boys and Girls Club were heard Thursday Nov. 2nd at a meeting of the Hill East Task Force.

Commissioner Daniel Ridge (ANC 6B09) has reminded constituents that the P&Z Committee has the potential to be the last hearing of the proposals before a body of the ANC. The P&Z Committee could place the Boys and Girls Club proposals on the consent agenda, meaning the project would not be discussed before the full ANC when it meets Tuesday Nov. 14th.

If the case is not placed on the consent agenda, the project will be discussed at the full meeting of ANC 6B is at 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 14th at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE).

Two days after that meeting, on Thursday, Nov 16th the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) will hold a Deposition Meeting at 7 p.m. St. Coletta of Greater Washington (1901 Independence Ave. SE), an official meeting at which community members can make comments on the project directly to DMPED.
