As the events in Charlottesville, remind us, it is important that American citizens stand up for the rights of all people to participate in our democracy. One group that has been marginalized for a long time is Native Americans. A workshop on the country’s complex relationship with Native Americans from colonial times to the present will be held on Oct. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, 201 Fourth St. SE.
